Here are the answers to your questions about what is included in a recyclable commodity.
- Aluminum cans
- Batteries
- Corrugated cardboard - this includes brown paper bags
- Electronics - Residential Customers Only
- Examples include: TV, VCR, DVD, Computers, Monitors, Printers, Personal Electronic Devices (CD/MP3 player, I-Pod, Cell Phone, etc)
- Carpet Pad
- Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFL)
- Mixed Paper - No plastic or wax coated papers - No wrapping paper
Examples include
- Cereal Boxes
- Beer & Soft Drink pressed paper boxes
- Junk Mail
- Scrap Paper
- Phonebooks
- Office Paper
- Magazines
- Paper Tubes
- Paper Egg Cartons
- Mixed Plastics - does not include #6 Plastic (Polystyrene) No fencing or pipe
Examples include
- Plastic Milk Jugs
- Detergent Bottles
- Plastic Coffee Containers
- Pop & Water Bottles
- Food Containers (must be triple rinsed)
- margarine containers
- salad dressing bottles
- yogurt containers
- cheese tubs
- Plastic fruit and other containers
- Clean Plastic buckets (metal handles must be removed)
- Medication bottles (remove prescription labels)
- Film Containers
- Any Plastic Box (metal components removed)
No containers that have contained any type of oil
- Newspaper - this includes white packing paper
- Plastic Bags - includes zip loc bags, plastic bags, plastic bubble wrap
- Steel & Tin Cans
- Nursery Containers (seasonal only) - 2 gallon containers and greater only
- Any food containers to be recycled must be free of food residue
- All bottles must be triple rinsed
