Kootenai County Citizen Corps

After September 11, 2001 America witnessed a wellspring of selflessness and heroism. People in every corner of the country asked, "What can I do?" and "How can I help?" Citizen Corps was crested to help all Americans answer these questions through public education and outreach, training, and volunteer service.

The mission of Citizen Corps is to harness the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds.

Citizens Corps Council of North Idaho works to foster collaboration between service and disaster-related organizations and programs in the five northern counties by serving as a central clearinghouse for residents to volunteer in areas in which they have expertise or interest.
