In November 2015 Kootenai County Commissioners passed a resolution to allow Community Development Director David Callahan to implement accelerated building permit procedures to more efficiently issue building permits for work necessary to remedy damage to structures caused by the wind storm.

The accelerated damage repair permits were a flat fee of $100 and were available for approximately 1 year. The resolution is coming to an end on November 18, 2016.

Community Development's permit search is now available with a GIS feature. Search and view permits and projects by address, owner, parcel number, and AIN. The Advanced Query will allow searching and displaying all permits or projects by type for a given date range.Permit Search may be found here and then choose 'View on Map'.

7/11/2014 - Public Awareness Program Aimed at Aquifer Protection

While most of us probably never consider it, liquids that flow into drywells and catch basins eventually end up in our drinking water-either directly or indirectly.

To raise awareness of this fact, the cities of Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls, in cooperation with Kootenai County, have invested $2,000 on stormwater disks that remind the public not to dump impure liquids.
